A new place and new eyes

Our little miss Caroline Ella has a new look for our D.C. adventures.  About 2 weeks ago she got her first pair of glasses and she LOVES them!  Right before her 3rd birthday she would look at me and her left eye
would be crossed.  Other times I would see it drift into the corner.  Although
I knew this may be in the cards for us with our family history, it broke my heart to see
my little girl look up and say, "Hi, Mommy" with cross-eyes.  It's amazing what an incredible uncle and a sweet pair of glasses can do!  Adam and two of his sisters, and my sweet nephew Liam all
got the joy of wearing a patch along with their glasses.  They didn't love it to say the least.
Caroline just has to wear the glasses and she has been great about keeping them on.  Her little eyes don't need to accommodate and cross any more.
When I put it into perspective, I couldn't be more thankful that so far this is all our little one
has dealt with.  She is healthy, enthusiastically happy, and loves to give smooches.  I know many other little children who have and are dealing with so much greater a challenge, and my tender, aching heart goes out to them.

First of all, glad the move went well. I'm sure you will love it in DC. And second, Caroline looks so dang cute in those glasses! They are perfect! I'm praying that my kids are blessed with Dan's eyes. He really only needs glasses for golfing. However, I'm sure that at least one (if not more or even all) will be cursed with my awful vision. If only we could take all the best genes from each parent and give them to our kids. Unfortunately...

But you're right, it is an even greater blessing that glasses are the only thing Caroline has had to deal with so far. And really, I don't know that I've seen a cuter little girl with glasses. I'm excited to hear about your DC adventures.

I also love the new glasses. I think glasses fit Caroline's personality. She was darling without and is darling with. Miss you guys and all the activity. It surely is quiet around here now. AND no one to do projects with. I'm happy that you are enjoying it in DC (Alexandria). It WILL be a fun place to visit.

She is super cute in glasses! Levi actually was diagnosed with strabismus a few months ago. We are going in for some treatment. I know how you feel! Good luck with everything.

She is so cute Andrea and the glasses only add to the cuteness. I love DC and that is so fun that you are there now. Your kiddos are sooo cute. I have to ask where you found the cute red sandals. I remember having sandals like that when I was little and I loved all over for some for Ava but never could locate any. If you get a chance let me know. I can't wait to read posts about you fun in DC!

I wish I looked that cute in glasses!! There's a groupon for Cox Farms that I think you should check out. If you don't get the coupon, you should go anyway. It's one of my favorite places in Virginia. Enjoy this beautiful fall!!
