A few of the latest happenings that have gone on with our family are:
Last Friday was the last night Caroline had her binkie. Adam asked if she wanted to send it to baby sister and she was glad to do that. She wasn't too excited at naptime the next day, however, that she had sent it. After some whimpering for her binkie, she was off to sleep and hasn't asked for it since. We anticipated a much more dramatic binkie exit!
Driving a clunker can pay off! We traded in the 1990 beamer for a new car, nothing fancy, but NEW with no current issues. The fabulous thing is, through the "Cash for Clunkers" government program, we got the amount I paid for the car when I first bought it. I have to admit, I like driving clunkers. There is no stress if a new scratch appears, or another check this or that light comes on because they're always on! I just have a hard time spending money on cars.
I will miss many quirks about the old beamer such as not being able to lock the doors from the driver's side. If you did that, you were permanently locked out of the car. I will miss the guessing game of how fast we were going and keeping the same pace as cars around us as the speedometer occasionally worked. I no longer will have warning when Adam is 3 blocks away from home because the new car doesn't sound like a diesel truck when you drive it. There will be no fun surprise as to whether the wipers will work in a terrible rainstorm. ALL the windows roll down in the new car...bonus! I will miss not having to wash our old car because you couldn't tell if that white spot on the car was bird poop or a new chip or faded spot in the paint. You'd miss all that too, right!?

Here is a video, mostly for the grandparents it's long sorry, of little Caroline singing, singing, singing. She sings all day and surprises us with new songs she picks up. Her little happy voice is so refreshing to hear throughout the day. We love that she is such a singer. Before bed when we turn her music on she always says, "I want Book of Mormon stories that my teacher tells to me". According to her that is the title of the song.
Also, if you ask her what daddy's name is she says "Babe" or "Babe dad" which I think is quite appropriate.

Congrats on the new car! That's exciting! I remember when we bought our current van that we still drive it was a "new to us" car... not new... in '05 when we bought it it was 4 years old. That was really new for us. Anyway, it was all pretty and I worried about it. Then I went and scraped up the passenger side sliding door on a rock at Target! I never worried about it again!!! ;-)

And, my children were walking past when I started playing Caroline's singing video. They stopped upon hearing her sweet voice and after just a moment realized she was singing BofM Stories. They laughed and smiled and said how CUTE she is!!! We all sat transfixed through the whole "program"! What a sweet little angel you have!

And... I thought you were having a boy? I am so confused... ;)

Love ya!

She is such a good singer. I loved it! It will be fun when I'm back there again and we can sing together.
Also, congrats on the car. So you have it now? It's nice that you have a new/old car. What a lot of special memories of the "beemer".
Love,
Mom

I drive a beater, too. My goal is to drive a car made in the same decade in which I'm living . . . eventually. Caroline is so stinking cute! And she's such a good little singer! I love it!

Oh my heck, we might die of Caroline deprevation! What an angel pie she is!!! We use to think Erin was the all-time cutest stuffy-nosed singer of primary songs ever born. But C might have her beat. Can't wait for Christmas so we can hug the stuffin' out of her and her second in command! (we miss you big folks too)

Yea for a new car! That's so exciting. I had a 79 Malibu before I started working at the hospital. You couldn't start the thing unless you popped the hood, held the butterfly valve open with a pen and poured gasoline directly down into the carborator. I complained about that car every day I had it, but the minute it was gone I missed it. And I love the video. Give said the widdol stream was my favorite.
