Olive 1 month

Posted by Picasa

I can't believe that an entire month has already passed. It did not go this fast with Caroline and I need to enjoy every second because Olive is growing rapidly!
At 2 weeks Olive was 7lbs. 7oz. and 19.5in
at her 1 month appt. this week she weighed 8lbs. 14oz. and was 21 inches long.
We just love this little butterball!
Caroline has adjusted very well and is always making sure she knows where baby Olive is. She has been a very good mother to her dollies. She feeds them, puts them down for naps and they also go to time out sometimes. I walked into the living room the other day and she was on the couch counting to 20.
I said, "Caroline, you don't need to be in time out."
Caroline: "I am not in time out, Lizzie is, she was NOT a helper." She pointed to the "timeout" chair and there was Lizzie.

It's nice that Caroline has had a smooth adjustment! I am now so glad that I had a girl first...such good helpers!

Just look at those two lying there. They are too cute for words. I love them and wish that you all were here so we could see you other than pictures. Oh well, we will pray for you to be here for the summer. That will be 2nd best.

I'm so glad that Caroline is adjusting so well, that would be my first fear when having a second child. I'm already worried about it because I was not so nice to my little sister when she was born and I have the pictures to prove it. I hope carma lets me go on that one.

Every time I see chubby, beautiful baby Olive, I have a relapse of gratitude for the perfect, healthy normalness of her! What cute sisters! At Caroline's age,Adam would scoop up "his" baby Jamilyn and rock her on his chest, side to side, while lying on his back. This gave me a heart attack, but it was so adorable we couldn't stop him. Get ready for the love...it takes some courage!
